Reading Rhythms is a series of welcoming reading parties designed to make it easy for people to gather and read socially. We invite you to bring any book you want and facilitate silent reading periods, as well as 1-on-1 breakouts, and group discussions to pull on the threads of the books that everyone is engaging with.
In a world that can often feel devoid of interest and meaningful connection, we bring readers together to reconnect with our love of learning, to experience the wonder of beautiful venues and curated music, and to gather amongst all of the people who want to be in that very same room.
Reading Rhythms welcomes you to a night of suspicion and suspense for "Read Between the Crimes: A Mystery Genre Party!" If one so desires, one can bring a book of the mystery genre, or perhaps another seasonally thematic tome, and join other readers solving the real mystery of the night - what are the best new book recs we can come up with?? (Bringing a mystery novel is entirely optional! All are welcome, regardless of theme, as always.)
Hotel Alameda's lobby bar area is accessible, however its back garden area has several stairs required to access it. Alameda has a bar that offers alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, and a food menu, from which orders can be placed at the bar. These food and drink options are not included with your Reading Rhythms ticket and must be purchased separately.
"Doors" for our reading party open at 6:30pm, and our official proceedings begin a few minutes before 7pm, and the event concludes at 9pm.
